A letter from the Orlando Automotive Club…

The Orlando Automotive Club was founded in 2008 by club president Luis Rivera. Since its founding 2 years ago, Luis alongside the OAC members have hosted hundreds of Floridians each month at their fund raising event cleverly dubbed “Cars and Café”.   This monthly exhibition event brings automotive enthusiast and connoisseurs together to raise awareness for charitable causes.  From the beginning, Luis envisioned an organization that would offer automotive enthusiast and the community a sense of purpose and belonging. The effective delivery of his vision and principles has provided OAC members, and its audience, the opportunity to exercise social responsibility and community involvement. Together Luis, the OAC, and their generous sponsors have organized several charitable events and delivered on their fundraising commitments.

Our most recent contribution includes becoming sponsors for Rally4hope and our ongoing OAC food drive for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. This commitment is one that we are prepared to continue as Haiti’s citizens rebuild. Since 2009 OAC has provided the Second Harvest Food Bank with hundreds of food cans collected at its monthly Cars and Café event.  In addition to the monthly food drives, OAC also conducted a toy drive in December 2010 for the Toys for Tots charity. Most OAC members are also active participants of other charitable events such as the annual Cars for the Cure event held in Lake Mary. 

 The successes of our charitable commitments are largely attributed to the core values shared by OAC, its members, and its sponsors.  As we continue to grow in 2010 we are looking to increase our partnerships with local businesses, charities, and the local media.
